Top 10 things to know about me:
1. I have been married to my husband , Daryl. (who is a saint) for the past 31 years. We married young - I was 19 and he was 20.
2. I have one child, a son, Derek age 26- who is married to Kim. They have a14 month old toddler. I am a first-time Grandma!
3. FAMILY is my most important priority. Besides Daryl, Derek, Kim and Aynsley - I have a Niece, Christina, who I consider my own daughter. Her and her family are very important to me and are all lumped in together with us. I am also very close to my brother, Jim.
4. I turned 50 in May 2007.
5. I am in the process of going thru peri menopause/menopause.. This both confuses and scares me.
6. I am mainly on this site to join a group or groups to learn how other women are dealing with Menopause. But after checking the whole Cafe Moms site out .... I think I'm here for a lot more than menopause stuff. I am always open to meeting new friends!
7. I have lots of hobbies, including Line Dancing (just learning), and exercise (mainly biking and walking), sewing, making jewelry, crochet, quilting and gardening. There are NEVER enough hours in the day to play!
8. I work as a Health Aide in a public school district at a Middle School, and have been there for the past 14 years. I'm like a school nurse, but I also take care of medical records and enter immunization data into our computer system. I love my job and love working with the challenge of those middle-schoolers!
9. I am a people person who always tries to see the glass as half-full. I believe life is way too short to be miserable, and that we should surround ourselves with positive friends.
10. I believe that people will treat you the way you allow them to treat you and I have always taught my son, daughter-in-law and Niece that belief. I try to live my life by example.

Just stopping by to say hi. I work as a Early Childhood/Family Education Teacher's Assistant. I'm on summer break too. But looking forward to going back to work. I miss the little ones. My kids are all big now.
Hello MaryC50, My name is Crystal. I have a son which is also the only one. I have some questions about how you feel he turned out without siblings. How do/did you handle sharing situations, bullies and other matters?
