I am the proud Mom of Tori and Isaiah, and the adoring wife a great guy JD. I am in no way perfect, and I  don't  pretend to be.I am a pretty odd person, and my daughter will attest to that.  I am strict yet lenient about my kids.  They are aloud to watch and listen to just about anything, if it isn't rated 'R' then they can watch it and if there isn't an excessive amount of cussing they can listen to it.  I am not one of those parents (and no offense if you fall into this category) that thinks in order to raise good kids you have to sensor everything they see, hear, and do.  Teach them right from wrong and let them decide what they like or don't like.  Please don't get me wrong, I would not let my kids watch or listen to something that is clearly out of line for their age.  While I do allow them to watch things like Mean Girls and listen to just about what ever we listen to, there are talks.  My daughter at 12 is wise beyond her years and sometimes will catch me off guard by saying things like,  "I would never drink or have a party when you are not home and I will never dress like she does" (after watching Mean Girls).  My son cares for nothing but  Super heroes, cars and bikes,  he is a typical boy.
