ALSO; I'm deaf with a Coclear Implant from Advanced Bionics. I'm a good lip reader although once in a while I gotta get help from someone who's lips are better to read! ACK!
I've learned that I can only read "southern lips" (hehe, oh well i live in the south! i cant help it!) Reading someone who has a very heavy accent who comes from another country is extremely hard. They're pretty nice and most of the time patient (that is if they know me) Those that dont, welll, it's hard on them too and they get frustrated. So usually I keep paper and pen with me all the time so they can write whatever they're saying to me.
I have 2 kids... (4 if you count my fur kids!) I have a dog, Sable, she's also kind of my Hearing Ear Dog. And a Cat name Wally who I swear looks like a walrus! Sable is a Sable Blue Merle Sheltie and a very sweet loving dog. Wally's a Maincoon -- there's a story behind this particular type of cat. ON the Day Jesus was on the cross, as His blood dripped downwards, there was a cat underneat the cross. The blood fell on top of the cat's head and made an "M" shape.... so any kind of Cat that has the "M" shape on their head is considered "Royalty!"
I'm not really into much of anything. I like to read, almost all kinds of books. I love Christian, Soft Rock of the 70s (now those were good musci!) and Some Country as well. Now that "rap and hard heavy metal music".....to this bionic ear of mine sounds like someone's screeching out something or the radio's in static!!! EEEEk not to mention how it HURTS the ear! HAHA!
Of course I've said already my Son's in the Air Force and I'm extremely proud of him. My daughter's 14 and I'm frustrated with her. HAHA!!! But I'm trying so hard to help her. She too is very frustrated. She has lots of friends some of whom I dont approve, some of whom I adore, and even calls me "MOM!". I just dont want to "loose her" if you know what I mean. I'm trying to help her find herself, find her self esteem, find her self worth and find "who she is"....and who she is in MY eyes (which she doesnt see) is a beautiful young girl who's just searching for something in her life.. but she'll find it eventually; She just needs to stop trying to grow up so fast and be a kid while it's enjoyable! Simple as that!
I'm a proud Air Force Mom who fully supports our TROOPS!!! I also want to say Hang in there Military Moms!! God Bless you and Thank you for your brave Soldiers!!!
Well Bevie its my turn --- My dear, dear father-in-law passed away early this morning. We will be traveling about 900 miles roundtrip to attend the funeral, so I will be out of contact for the next 5-6 days. But I will try to write a nice friendly email when I get back. ---Marjorie aka PrettyPill
Hi Bevie. I hope you're doing well & feeling better after your surgery. Just wanted to say Hi & let you know I'm thinking of you. I like your new background for your page! :)
Oh Bevie, I just read about the loss of your StepDad. I presume you were close. Im so sorry. My own father-in-law is currently losing a battle with Cancer. He is someone I adore. More of a father to me than my own father. So I really feel for you. I hope you are doing okay. Please write when you feel social again, okay?
