Motherhood is one of the most challenging callings in this life.  It is a total sacrifice of selfhood - and it changes your perspective on the world forever.  I do believe that it is a calling - a position God intends for us to take seriously everyday of our lives.  We are called to this because the sustenance of humanity depends upon us - Mothers.  (This does not in any way take away from the role of father - which is also a divine calling.)  As we navigate through this phenomenon called life - let us always remember that the greatest position we have ever attained is being "mom" to some small person who will eventually be an adult someday - and we will still always be "Mom".  Let's run with this - and be our very best selves for this job - let's seek the help of God and others to do our best at a position whose rewards are seemingly invisible but yet so amazing - perhaps we will learn something painful or we will be filled with pride, we are not necessarily shielded from shame, but we are always in God's favor.
