I am now a 40-year-old first time Mommy... and I was lucky enough to have a beautiful set of boy/girl fraternal twins in 2006! Thankfully we went full-term (for twins) and had them (via schedule C-section) at 38 weeks, 1 day. I'm amazed at how much they learn, and how quickly. My friend recommended this site, and it's really wonderful (thanks, Gena).
When I feel really tired, or like I've had a hard day, I just come on here and see how easy I have it compared to all the mothers out there with more than two kids....even multiple sets of multiples! You women are awe-inspiring.
Recommendation (for anyone expecting multiples): If you don't have it already, I highly recommend the book "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads" by Dr. Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein. There were a lot of really helpful things in there that, obviously, weren't covered in "What to Expect..."
Another recommendation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgkZf6jVdVg My husband and I saw Priscilla Dunstan on t.v. and instantly things got easier with our babies. We were lucky enough that the babies tended to use the pre-cry words until about 4 months.
Thank you! I was wondering if anyone else has done this with their twins! I try a sign or two each day when they start to pick it up more I will try like 3 an 4 signs a day then 5 an 6 an so on!! Thank you mamma for sharing that makes me feel better to know I am not alone!!
