Hi y'all! I'm Tammi, a 38- year old, married mother of 3 from rural Oklahoma. I'm low maintenance: my fave outfit would be a worn-out sweatshirt with my raggedy cutoff shorts, just a trace of makeup on my face, and one of my 75 million ballcaps- lol.
I'm rather boring, and perfectly content with that. I love blogging, writing, and reading. I have anxiety attacks and stutter when talking to people face-to-face so texting is my favorite form of communication! I'm a SAHM, but I do substitute teach occasionally at the local elementary, middle, or high school. I'm opinionated and set in my ways, but I'm not judgemental. 'Mommy Wars' are ridiculous. There are more inportant issues than breastfeeding homeschooling. Both of my daughters play competitive softball and that is pretty much our life. Seriously! Between the two of them, we play probably upwards of 200 games a year. It's hectic and crazy and most of our extended family hates that we spend so much time at the ballfields, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
Our oldest daughter, Brigitte, is almost 18 and is in her senior year of high school. Hali, our almost 16- year old daughter, is a sophomore. As beautiful as my girls are on the outside, they are ten times more beautiful on the inside. They are GOOD kids. I guess hubby and I did okay in raising them after all. I also credit their love of softball because 1.) it keeps them SOOOO busy that they really don't have time to get into trouble, and 2.) in order to play they have to keep up their grades and be able to pass drug tests. LOL- whatever it takes, right?
On August 26, 2008, we finalized the adoption of our 3- year old son, Josh. The meaning of Josh is "God rescues," and I thank Him every minute of the day for saving my precious son and entrusting us with him. Josh came to us on May 31, 2007 as a possible fost-adopt placement. We have a very close relationship with Josh's paternal uncle and aunt, who were very supportive of our adopting him. I'm in the process of putting together an online picture timeline of Josh's life for his bioparents....just in case we ever decide to allow contact with them. I'm been struggling with this issue, but at the moment I'm leaving things as they are and trying not to get worked up about what I might or might NOT decide to do in the future.
We have been a foster family for many years, and it has been the most rewarding experience of our lives. It's also been the most maddening experience of our lives- lol. Each child who has been through our home has taught my family one important life lesson or another. I'm passionate about foster care and fost-adoption so don't get me started unless you have a lot of spare time- lol. I'm working on a book about our experiences, but it'll probably not ever get finished.
