How's she doing now? *hugs you*
You definitely want to take any weight loss or lower weight seriously. Can you do breast compressions while nursing? Can you pump and give her the pumped milk between feeds?
Also, request a referral to see a lactation consultant or another pediatrician for a second opinion. You can pump and skim fat off of the milk and spoon feed this to your baby.
Wet counts okay? Making poopy diapers? Meeting milestones? Lethargic? Any symptoms of over-supply, reflux or dairy sensitivities? Tongue tie? Poor latch?
Buy two five pound weights and a one pound weight and bring those and 80 quarters (rolled into two rolls) to every weight check you do. Spread them out across the scale. The weight should be 12lbs no matter where the items are on the scale. Remove a roll of quarters. The weight should be 11.5lbs. (80 quarters = one pound) If the weight of the dead weights is not reliable, the scale is not reliable for measuring the weight of a squirming infant.
Check the scale. Are you still out of the country? Any lactation consultants available? Scales can be off by more than a pound. Is your baby making enough wets/pooping? Meeting milestones?
