Personal Statement
Adoption reform and preventing unnecessary adoptions have become passionate goals for me. Helping to restore adoptees' rights to access their original birth certificates is also extremely important to me. People should know that I care deeply about children and always consider their best interests first. Although I have empathy for mothers who lose children to adoption as I did, I am convinced that children should always be the first priority.
However, I believe that in most cases babies and moms need not be separated. Sometimes newborn placements may be necessary, but only in dire circumstances as a last resort. Temporary hard times do not warrant a long term permanent solution like adoption. There is too much risk of harm to all parties.
