I've been meaning to respond to your post. I'm in Sparks with a boy 11 and a girl 7. They are in year-round school, but currently off, although not at home( thank God), as they are doing a program at UNR, KIDS U. They love it, and it keeps them entertained. Otherwise they would be at home, bugging the heck out of me. I work part-time...very part-time...only 10-15 a month, plus I am volunteer queen-of-the-universe. It keeps me from going insane.
