Hello,
I'm Syra. I'm married to Mike, a man who loves me dearly and would do almost anything for me. He works such long, hard hours, but we often can run away together to go out to breakfast or lunch.
My mom lives with us. She had depression, diabetes and has low kidney function, but latley she seems to be doing really well. She does the dishes and fold the towels most of the time. I clean her room and make sure she's got her meds and good food to eat. She's a bit absent minded, but I can safely leave the kids with her for an hour or two, which is very freeing for me.
We moved to Albuquerque to be with my in-laws. I love my MIL and wish I could be just like her when I grow up. We live close by my FIL too as well as two BIL's and a million of my husband's cousins, aunts, uncles and his grandma. It's so nice to be surrounded by family.
My kids are Esther age 8, Sophia age 6, Basil age 3 soon to be 4, and Jonah born last March. We always thought we'd start with four kids and see how many we wanted afterwards. I hope we end up with eight, but menopause may stop me. I homeschool the girls and they are learning very well. This year especially seems to be going smoothly.
I have a Master's Degree in mathematics and I taught math at a few universities before I chose to be a SAHM. I still tutor friends sometimes to keep my hand in it. I love teaching math to my girls too.
I also wrote and published a joyful account of my life as a SAHM. It's called "Syra's Scribbles." I bought 200 copies to autograph and sell. I'm down to fifty copies. I'll be glad when this project is done, but I'm thrilled to have people all over the United States getting to know me in such a special way.
We met with an Ear Nose Throat Surgeon yesterday and he is convinced that Mike does NOT have cancer. I'm so thankful.
Hi Syrah! Good luck with Mike's biopsy. I believe we met on another group? Sandwich generations? or something like it? Be well, have a great day:) me
