Jamaica is still working on our match. DSHS is finally moving towards assigning us a CW! I am meeting with my state rep next week to see if we can make some changes to foster care in WA state. How are you doing?
Just waiting and waiting and waiting. I continue to call and some month Jamaica will make a match. We are also still waiting for DSHS so we can move on to the adoption paperwork.
Read your latest blog post. Even if your children never learn to love or trust, does not mean you failed as a parent. It's a piece of advice I was given by other parents who have parented very hurting children. You are providing them every chance to suceed and it may be many years before you know if it worked.
Hi! I saw you mentioned Horse Therapy for your foster/adopt kiddos - I have horses and have often wondered how beneficial a program like this could be for foster kids. Could you send me a link/info on this? I would really appreciate it.
And to answer your post's Q, we were the first and only parents for our son - however, I think it's confusing for him at the open-adoption visits since we call his bios "Mommy Name" and "Daddy Name."
