Having been a single mother myself for the past six years so I know first hand how overwhelming it is and how alone I often feel in my situation. I have learned that my situation is not unique, there are in fact millions of women out there who go through and feel exactly as I do. Just knowing this helps me to feel better about my circumstances and has given me the strength to offer support to others who still feel that they are alone and have no hope. This is not a “how to” book but instead a “you’re not alone” book which will give single mothers the support and encouragement they need to overcome the obstacles that they face.
My book does not focus on statistics or theories but instead, real situations and feelings. I have included at the end of each chapter quotes which have been provided by other single mothers from here on CafeMom who have been kind enough to share their stories and advise for my book. By doing this, the readers will get a variety of opinions and advise, not just my own.
With inspirational quotes and short poems concluding my book, I will be able to offer each reader some extra encouragement.
my manuscript is complete! I am now searching for an agent so I can get it published! I am so excited because this book has turned out better than I ever imagined!
I'm thinking of writing a book similar to yours but about domestic violence. Do you have any tips for me? I read some where that every author dreads being asked how do you get published and being told someone has an idea for a book but I hope you don't mind giving me some advice.
P.S. I was enjoying your music as I wrote this! I love Poison and ACDC!
