I'm Kara. I've learned a lot in these past few years. First, life has a tendency to throw you things you never expected in a million years. I've also found that sometimes these things are exactly what you needed to put your life where it's supposed to be. I've finally understood that open eyes must be accompanied with an open mind. But perhaps the most valuable thing I've realized is it's incredibly crucial to never stop learning.

- I can rather impressively rattle of the carbohydrate counts for many common foods due to my son's type 1 diabetes.

-I'm a longtime member of a forum dedicated to urban development, in particular a love of skyscrapers. My "geeky" status is a homage to being an architecture geek.

-I've been to 2 other countries, but hope to visit many more when I get my "grown up" job. ;)

-I'm guilty of watching "brain dead" tv in order to fall asleep at night.

-I've left college and returned 3 times now due to circumstances beyond my control. Hopefully, this will be the last go around.

-I'm pretty goofy and actually embarrass pretty easily, but I never remember that until after I've done something embarrassing.

-I still enjoy playing Super Nintendo.

-I've moved 4 times in the past 2 and a half years.

-My breakfast of choice is chicken and dumplings.

-I've lived in 3 states, but spent the majority of my life in Tennessee. I don't consider myself a typical Southerner, but I do mostly enjoy living here.
