I am recently retired, however am never bored.....I am a military widow.....my husband died in 1980. I now live in South Carolina. Was born and lived in Va. Beach and the Tidewater area of Virginia. I have 3 wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. Life is wonderful....it is what you make it.....I retired in April 2008 and the same week I found I have CML (Leukemia)---oh I have the good kind - all I have to do is take a chemo oral pill every day--it is expensive and had I not been a military widow, I don't know what I would have done...The medicine usually cost anywhere from $4000-$5000 a month...without insurance but with the military insurance all I pay is $3.00.
I volunteer at our local hospital and have signed on to volunteer at the local schools to read or help any of the children. I love my community. It is very friendly and the people ARE just the greatest !!!
