 Please join our group  In defense of protective parents and abused children

 have been a child advocate for many years.  I began volunteering on my governor's task force on child abuse and than became a CASA volunteer. 

Previously I had been a Sunday School teacher , girl scout and campfire leader.

I left CASA to do foster care and was a foster mom to many for respite but one particular little 3 year old who was the fourth child her parents abused.  The older two had been adoption when this little girl became my foster child.  Eventually she and her brother were up for adoption.  However, I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition which I was told require a bone marrow transplant.  We had nurture and love the child for over 2 years but we worked with the foster care system and when she was freed for adoption, she was.  She because of such abuse was considered unadoptable.  With a wonderful team, my two daughters and myself working with and for her 24-7 and a great pediatrician and therapists, dentist, CASA worker and social worker this child left my home for a new start. 

I do not have a match for a bone marrow transplant so I just deal with it.  I am not in pain just very exhausted and have learned to take one day at a time.

I do not list my name or information because I know how hurtful people can be to child abuse advocate.

I am medically retired on social security disability.

I prefer to keep my personal thoughts private as I like people to form their own opinions and not be suaved by mine.  Likewise my religion is personal.  To me religion is very important but I realize some do not feel the same and that does not mean we cannot be friends or fellow advocates.
