We are planning a MomMeet Expo for Spring on 2009.
All the craft/vendors will most be CafeMom members, AND are
members.
Although we are members of the networking site, in no way is CafeMom affiliated with this event.
Right now is the planning stage. Our group is a worldwide group and we hoped to bring in members of the group along with the general public to enjoy this event..We have many members who do sales via Avon, Mary Kay, Home Interiors, etc. And we have many crafters who have websites and/or sell on Etsy. This would be a great way for all our moms to not only have the chance to meet other members in a fun and family-friendly way, but also to sell their items.
*Once again, it is not being put on by CafeMom but by members of the site.*
Here are ways YOU can be involved.
Advertising
: We are looking for advertising sponsors. If you would like your business advertised on our website and at our event, you can purchase a Sponsor Ad. Our sponsor ads are $25.00. Your company logo would go on our website and be featured at the event. You will receive a payment invoice from Google Checkout to remit payment. All fees go towards facilty rentals, etc.
Fundraising
: If your company has fundraising products OR would like to donate an item and/or service for a raffle, please contact. You donation would be noted along with your company logo on our website and at the event. If you have a fund-raising program, it will be used for a local organization such as a scout troup, athletic group, etc. Details would be given and arrangements made for on site fundraising through your company. This gives many different groups different types of fundraisers and it can be done all in one area. Or if you are a group who would like to be a part of the fundraising and need funds raised, you MUST have representatives avail during your time slot. *If you have a fundraising company, please contact. Even if you are not part of the fundraising process, we can set you up at an information table to let everyone know about you.*
Vendors/Sales
: All of our vendors are MomMeet members. This shocases their companies and their handcrafted goods they sell. We have many who have online websites or sell on sites such as Etsy, Ecrater and Ebay. All these showcase the talents and business of our MomMeet members and promote their items. If you are NOT a MomMeet member and wish to be a vendor at the site, please join CafeMom and our MomMeet group,*.http://www.cafemom.com/group/90298
*If you do not wish to join the group, or you are not a parent and still are interested in a table, please email me.*
Information: If you would like to have an information table, please contact us. Your company/service you will be representing will be featured on our website and at the event. Each table would have your information, via handouts, samples, etc. This is ideal for non-profit companies, company recruiters, services, etc. YOU will need to be present or someone representing you for your time at the event. To be a part, contact and let us know when you could be availible, what time slots are good for you. We also can feature demonstrations, guest speakers (for a cause) in this area. **To have an information table, you do NOT have to be a member, however, it is encouraged since all our updates go through the site.*

Travel: Since this is a global group, we are looking for ALL MomMeet members to be able to come in and sell their items or contribute in other areas. If you or your company can offer dicounts for out of town MomMeet members, such as rental discounts on cars, rooms, entertainment in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, please contact. Your company will also be featured on our website and at our venue.
Entertainment
: This will feature local entertainers. If you wish to donate your talent to our event for a 1-2 hour time slot, you will be featured on our website and at our event. We want to feature as much talent in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area as we have. Please contact us to arrange a time slot. *To be an entertainer, you do NOT have to be a member, however, it is encouraged since all our updates go through the site. Please also contact for rental fees. I cannot guarantee payment at this time, however, we are trying to procure the funding.*http://www.cafemom.com/group/90298
Volunteers
: All volunteers are MomMeet members. If you wish to be a volunteer and help out in one of our areas, please join CafeMom and our group
All volunteers do receive free admission to the event. Volunteers can give as little as 1 hour or more if they wish. Without volunteers, we would not be able to run this event smoothly.
Sincerely,
Amy Larison

Open your heart, your mind, and your home
to an International High School student for one school year. This has proven to be the best tool of diplomacy and bridge building between nations.
We are gearing up for our placement season for the 2009-2010 students who arrive in August and need as much help as we can get to get all these kids into homes.
*We also have a few who will arrive in January for the 2008-2009 school year.*
After celebrating our sixtieth year in international education as a non-profit organization, the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) remains highly committed to our mission: "To help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world."
Each student in our program is individually interviewed to ensure that they have the appropriate maturity level to be a successful participant in our program. We require a "C+" average to be accepted and we also require our students maintain this minimum grade average throughout their stay (allowing for a short adjustment period). Students have taken an English proficiency test to prove their ability to be academically successful while attending an American high school. Tutoring will be provided for a struggling student.
CIEE strongly believes that by volunteering their time to community service, our students will become more involved in the American way of life. Therefore, we require that they participate in a "Community Service Project" (8 hours per semester) to ensure that they reciprocate the exchange and benefits to their host family, school, and their community.
Students are between 15-18 years old, have their own medical insurance, and spending money. There is no better time than NOW to learn more about our neighbors in the world!!
Why Host?
Introduce the heart of America
Unite our future leaders
Strengthen mutual understanding
Gain new insights and appreciation
for different cultures
Affect attitudes over lifetimes
Host families get a $50 tax deduction from the government per month.
Please help us make a difference in the world! If unable to host a student and know someone who can, contact to find out about our referral bonus.
For more information and to participate in this rewarding intercultural experience please contact :
Amy Larison, Local Coordinator/Team Leader
Dallas/Ft. Worth area (If you do not live in area, I can connect you with your local coordinator-and we are looking for more local coordinators, like myself, to hire in your area.)
We have many students to choose from. Many share the same interests as families in your circle. If you have information about someone who would be interested in hosting a student, please contact us as soon as you can as these kids are ready to come to the US in August. CIEE offers $100 referral fee for any host family referral who hosts a CIEE student on your behalf.
We would love to have you as part of our CIEE family.
Please check out host family website at www.ciee.org/hs/host for more information about hosting.

Hey, I saw you stopped by my page. Just thought I'd stop by yours. I admire your having exchange students come over from other countries. I live in MN, so I don't know if there is anything like that up here. Don't have any room in my house anyway. LOL!! Well, hope you have happy holidays. Talk to ya later, Lisa
