  • We are in need host families for exchange students!

Change starts with you - become a CIEE host family or a Local Coordinator!

I am reaching out to you to see if you would be interested in hosting a foreign exchange student or know someone who would be interested.  Economically speaking, times are tough and finding families has been difficult this year.  I am hoping you may be interested or know of a nice family who would make a great host.  We accept all kinds of families; kids, no kids, empty nesters, single parents, and so on.  The main requirement is kindness and willingness to learn about a foreign culture.

**CIEE does offer a referral fee of $50 should a family you referred to us decides to host.**

We have a great group of kids for the 2012-2013 school year.  Many of these kids are talented and would love to join clubs in their American High School. These kids are excited about the opportunity to live in our great state!  The kids are nervous but excited at the same time.  CIEE is trying to best accommodate these students, so perhaps you can help us. Hosting an exchange student proves to be a great promoter of diversity and diplomacy for the local communities, which is one of our first and foremost goals.

    Requirements of a host family:

*Host parents are over age 25.

*Provide a bed, three meals a day, transportation to/from school and a place to study.

*Students have their own spending money and insurance through CIEE.

**Please note the current program opportunities CIEE can offer high school students from your district. Two are scholarship opportunities and the last one is our high school travel abroad.

Benefits of Being a CIEE Local Coordinator

    ·         Learning about the World
Meet students from countries all over the world, while fostering their acclimation into your hometown.

    ·         Enjoying a flexible position
Many CIEE Local Coordinators have full time jobs, are stay at home moms and dads, or are retired. The level of commitment depends on your flexibility and availability. You set your own goals and receive the support and guidance you need to achieve them.

    ·         Developing Personal and Professional Strengths
Working with teenagers and host families is challenging and rewarding work. Your communication and management skills will be strengthened and developed.

•·   Joining the Mission of International Exchange
Be a meaningful part of a life-changing experience that families and students never forget. Experience the joy and rewards of being a cultural ambassador.

    •·   Contributing to your Community
Expand your relationships within your community by strengthening ties with neighbors, friends, civic and religious groups.

     ·         Our Local Coordinators receive some monetary compensation for placing and supervising students. We also offer one national and one international trip per year to coordinators who qualify.

    http://www.ciee.org/highschool/local-coordinators/benefits.html

**Please send me your city/state and what your interests are, hosting or becoming a coordinator.  We are looking all over the state of Texas and the US for families and coordinators. Thank you for your time!**

--Feel free to pass this on to your colleagues, friends, neighbors, etc. We do offer referral rewards if the referred family does host a student.--

Help an exchange student discover this country! Pass the word on to your family, friends and neighbors. Spread world peace, one exchange student at a time!

The CIEE USA High School program hosts more than 55 nationalities represented in a group of over 1,300 students each year. CIEE also manages U.S. governmental grants programs for students who have been selected to participate in the prestigious Congress-Bundestag scholarship, Future Leaders Exchange, YES, and A-SMYLE. Change starts with you - become a CIEE international exchange student, host family, host school, or Local Coordinator and share in our mission of over 60 years "to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world."
