Change starts with you - become a CIEE host family or a Local Coordinator!
I am reaching out to you to see if you would be interested in hosting a foreign exchange student or know someone who would be interested. Economically speaking, times are tough and finding families has been difficult this year. I am hoping you may be interested or know of a nice family who would make a great host. We accept all kinds of families; kids, no kids, empty nesters, single parents, and so on. The main requirement is kindness and willingness to learn about a foreign culture.
**CIEE does offer a referral fee of $50 should a family you referred to us decides to host.**
We have a great group of kids for the 2011-2012 school year. Many of these kids are talented and would love to join clubs in their American High School. These kids are excited about the opportunity to live in our great state! The kids are nervous but excited at the same time. CIEE is trying to best accommodate these students, so perhaps you can help us. Hosting an exchange student proves to be a great promoter of diversity and diplomacy for the local communities, which is one of our first and foremost goals.
All students come for 5 or 10 month programs. Host families are volunteers. As a host family, you need to be 25 or older. You can be a single person, single parent, parent of grown children, etc. Each student has their own spending money and insurance. As a host family, you would provide transportation to and from school, three meals a day, a bed and a place to study.
As a local coordinator, you need to be 25 or older. You would provide support for host families and students while in the US. You will make reports monthly and work with the schools. You will find host families in your area.
**Please send me your city/state and what your interests are, hosting or becoming a coordinator. We are looking all over the state of Texas and the US for families and coordinators. Thank you for your time!**
--Feel free to pass this on to your colleagues, friends, neighbors, etc. We do offer referral rewards if the referred family does host a student.--
Help an exchange student discover this country! Pass the word on to your family, friends and neighbors. Spread world peace, one exchange student at a time!
The CIEE USA High School program hosts more than 55 nationalities represented in a group of over 1,300 students each year. CIEE also manages U.S. governmental grants programs for students who have been selected to participate in the prestigious Congress-Bundestag scholarship, Future Leaders Exchange, YES, and A-SMYLE. Change starts with you - become a CIEE international exchange student, host family, host school, or Local Coordinator and share in our mission of over 60 years "to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world."
