    --  According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute (a private organization created by Planned Parenthood), in 2005, 1.21 million abortions took place in the United States. Some 42,350 of these occurred on women who were 16 to 20 weeks pregnant; over 13,310 occurred on women who were 21 weeks or more into their pregnancy.
    --  According to CDC government data, over 64,000 abortions in a year are performed on women who had had three or more previous abortions.
    --  From 1973 through 2005, more than 45 million legal abortions occurred in our country.

    What Are Abortion Clinics More Concerned With...
    Helping Women...or Making a Profit?


    If elective abortion should ever be illegal again, the predominant fear is that desperate women would be forced into back-alleys and suffer unsafe abortions like in the past. Before Roe v. Wade, it was rumored that tens of thousands of women died every year from illegal and unsafe abortions. 

    However, the actual facts don't agree with these claims.

    "An illegal abortion may be called a "back-alley", "backstreet", or "back-yard" abortion.

    The wire coat hangermethod was a popularly known illegal abortion procedure, although they were not the norm. In fact, Mary Calderone, former medical director of Planned Parenthood, said, in a 1960 printing of the American Journal of Public Health:

    "Abortion is no longer a dangerous procedure. This applies not just to therapeutic abortions as performed in hospitals but also to so-called illegal abortions as done by physician. In 1957 there were only 260 deaths in the whole country attributed to abortions of any kind, second, and even more important, the conference [on abortion sponsored by Planned Parenthood] estimated that 90 percent of all illegal abortions are presently being done by physicians. Whatever trouble arises usually arises from self-induced abortions, which comprise approximately 8 percent, or with the very small percentage that go to some kind of non-medical abortionist. Abortion, whether therapeutic or illegal, is in the main no longer dangerous, because it is being done well by physicians." "

    This chart from the National Center for Health Statistics explains how some of those exaggerated pre-Roe mortality numbers came about:

    So, you can see that maternal mortality was significantly reduced more by the introduction and increased use of antibiotics than by the legalization of abortion. The latter, seems to have made NO discernible difference at all. By the time Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, maternal mortality had been reduced to roughly the same amount as it remained for the early years of legal abortions. However, legalizing abortion did make an enormous difference in the ignored victims, unborn humans. It substantially increased their deaths to a tune of 1,200,000+ yearly in the U.S. and has also led to other countries adopting a similar stance of "reproductive rights" which causes 42,000,000+ global deaths a year of unborn females and males.

    However, legalizing abortions also fascilitated the ever-increasing profits of the abortionists and the abortion industry. They were involved in spreading (and thus, perpetuating) the myth that still remains today.

    The latest unbiased statistics from WEF about global maternal mortality should make everyone reconsider the current direction of so-called "reproductive rights."

    Permissive Abortion Laws May Be Hazardous To Mothers' Health, Per New Report ~ Samantha Singson

         (NEW YORK – C-FAM)  A new report from the World Economic Forum (WEF) shows that countries with restrictive abortion laws are often the leaders in reducing maternal mortality, and those with permissive laws often lag. According to the report, the pro-life nation of Ireland has topped the global rankings once again with the best maternal health performance.




    There has been a huge misconception that the pro-life and religious communities oppose potentially life-saving stem cell technology.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  To explain our position, first we must separate fact from fiction.

    A stem cell is essentially a "blank" cell, capable of becoming another more differentiated cell type in the body, such as a skin cell, a muscle cell, or a nerve cell.

    Stem cells can be used to replace or heal dam­aged tissues and cells in the body. 

    The two basic types of stem cells are:

    Come from living human embryos that must be destroyed (killed) in order utilize the stem cells
    - Controversial and unethical (Pro-Lifers generally oppose this type)
    - Flexible - can be converted into any cell type in your body 
    - Tumorigenic - due to its flexibility, the cells are hard to control and are capable of forming tumors or promoting tumor formation in its recipients
    Immunogenic - recipient must take immunosuppressant medicine indefinitely
    - Basically OBSOLETEdue to iPS technology (see the links to articles below)

    It is unethical to destroy new human lives in order to potentially improve another human life.  Especially, when there is another safe and ethical alternative.

    Pregnancy-related tissues such as umbilical cords, placentas, and amniotic fluid, and adult tissues such as bone marrow, skin, liver, epidermis, retina, skeletal muscle, intestine, brain, dental pulp, and elsewhere. Even fat obtained from liposuction has been shown to contain significant numbers of adult type stem cells
    - Non-controversial, moral and ethical (Pro-life and religious communities, as well as everyone else, wholeheartedly support it)
    - Non-Tumorigenic - tend not to form tumors
    - If cells are taken from oneself, than the body will not reject the cells. Therefore, there is no need to take immunosuppressant medicine
    - Have repeatedly PROVEN to be beneficial

    Adult stem cells are a "natural" solution. They naturally exist in our bodies, and they provide a natural repair mechanism for many tissues of our bodies. They belong in the microenviron-ment of an adult body, while embryonic stem cells belong in the microenvironment of the early embryo, not in an adult body, where they tend to cause tumors and immune system reactions. Most importantly, adult stem cells have already been successfully used in human therapies for many years. As of this date, NO therapies in humans have ever been suc­cessfully carried out using embryonic stem cells.     It is a myth that embryonic stem cell research has been against the law until President Obama reversed the ban in March. In reality, there has never been any law or regulation against destroying human embryos for research purposes. While President Bush banned the use of federal funding (tax payer monies) to pay for research on embryonic stem cell lines created after August 2001, it has never been illegal. Anyone using private funds was free to pursue it.  President Obama lifted this ban on federal funding, making it possible to use tax payer money for the controversial and, many believe, obsolete embryonic stem cell research. Thereby, diverting our money away from ethical and sound stem cell research that could provide safe cures and treatments decades before embryonic stem cell research possibly could.

    Despite all the dangers and controversies, some scientists are determined to waste taxpayer money in order to experiment with embryonic stem cells --- WHY?   Because if they, the biotech/pharmaceutical companies and research centers, are successful in patenting an embryonic stem cell line, as opposed to adult stem cells which cannot be patented, than they would make a great deal of money at our expense!

    Is this a baby or a fetus?

    A fetus is defined as "the unborn young from the end of the eighth week after conception (when the major structures have formed) to the moment of birth." Birth is defined as "The emergence and separation of offspring from the body of the mother." So, once a human is no longer physically 'attached' to the mother, it can no longer be technically defined as a fetus.

    So, what is a baby? A baby is defined as "a. A very young child; an infant,.b. An unborn child; a fetus." So, a very young human, both in and out of the womb, is!

    So, does it really make sense that one baby would be worthy of protection under the law and the other baby can be legally and physically torn apart?

    A "FETUS"

    Definition:  In human beings, the unborn young from the eighth week of pregnancy to
    birth; an organism in the stage of development that follows the embryonic stage.


    The term "fetus" is a medical/scientific term used to describe a physical stage of human development, such as embryo, neonate (newborn), infant, toddler... adolescent...etc.

    It is not, and never was, a term defining "pre-human" or "having potential for life" which is what the pro-choice movement has reduced the term to. You can describe a male sperm cell and a female egg cell as being pre-human or having potential to be a human, because each of these two cells are human, in nature, but are lacking what is necessary to become a full human.  However, at the moment that both sperm and egg combine, it becomes a living human being.

    At that very instant, the human contains all the chromosomes and genetic material it will ever have in its lifetime.  The DNA has, immediately,
    generated a genetic map that determines what that human will look, sound, and act like.  A fetus (and an embryo before it) does not have potential for life, it IS alive...and it's growing and developing in the uterus, just as it will continue to grow and develop after birth, until it reaches adulthood.

    Abortion violently and abruptly ends a life and stops a human child from reaching his or her full potential, just as if a child murderer violently and abruptly ends a life and destroys the very same potential in the child that he kills.

  • How It All Begins




    If a sperm cell meets and penetrates an egg, it will fertilize it. This is known as conception. At this moment, the genetic make-up is complete, including the sex of the infant. Within about three days after conception, the fertilized egg, which is dividing rapidly into many cells, passes through the fallopian tube into the uterus where it attaches to the uterine wall (implantation). The placenta, which will nourish the baby, also begins to form.

    ...But have they always been right?


    Faulty U.S. Supreme Court Decisions...
    ". . .It is very clear, therefore, that no State can, by any act or law of its own, passed since the adoption of the Constitution, introduce a new member into the political community created by the Constitution of the United States. It cannot make him a member of this community by making him a member of its own. And, for the same reason, it cannot introduce any person or description of persons who were not intended to be embraced in this new political family which the Constitution brought into existence, but were intended to be excluded from it.

    It then proceeds to say:
    We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among them is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

    The general words above quoted would seem to embrace the whole human family, and if they were used in a similar instrument at this day would be so understood. But it is too clear for dispute that the enslaved African race were not intended to be included, and formed no part of the people who framed and adopted this declaration,. . ."

    ". . .The appellee and certain amici argue that the fetus is a "person" within the language and meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment. In support of this, they outline at length and in detail the well known facts of fetal development. If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant's case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the Amendment. The appellant conceded as much on reargument. On the other hand, the appellee conceded on reargument that no case could be cited that holds that a fetus is a person within the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment.

    The Constitution does not define "person" in so many words.... But in nearly all these instances, the use of the word is such that it has application only post-natally. None indicates, with any assurance, that it has any possible pre-natal application.  

    All this, together with our observation, supra, that, throughout the major portion of the 19th century, prevailing legal abortion practices were far freer than they are today, persuades us that the word "person," as used in the Fourteenth Amendment, does not include the unborn. . . ."

    I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

    To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art—if they desire to learn it—without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.

    I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.
