I'm a Christian first and foremost, I graduated with a degree in music - flute/piccolo, and a post-bacc in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), I have a strong interest in other cultures, hope to go back to Japan for ministry, my husband is a seminary graduate.

I love nature immensly, love taking walks, and bikeriding - I rode 20 miles round trip regularly through 38 weeks pregnant with my first, and we still have never owned a car, preferring walking or bike. I also love reading and ballroom dancing/swing, although we're certainly not terribly good.

As parents, we follow the attachment parenting model, as in no crying it out, responding to our children, and mostly responding to them as individuals and their particular needs. I'm babywearing obsessive - 5 carriers I use regularly, and I can carry both kids at once. I exclusively breastfeed, extended, we love family bed, we selectively vaccinate, and we generally lean toward the most natural, back to earth approaches, such as organics and cloth diapering, though due to cost and laziness do not always follow through on that.

My biggest challenge as a parent is setting the example that I want my children to follow... also my biggest challenge in life. My ideals of who I want to be and who I act like I am are often polar opposites.
