I am an at-home Mom homeschooling my 8th grade daughter while I am taking an online writing workshop and working on my first novel. My oldest is in a local boarding school (due to logistics of living on an island) and the younger will be joining her sister there in the next school year. Therefore I am looking at weekday empty-nesting while having the kids on weekends. My husband is a busy lawyer and I am sort of in charge of everything else, including getting everyone where they need to go and when. Our oldest has Type 1 diabetes, which has been a challenge for her, but we've been dealing with it for 11 years now, so we take it mostly in stride. She has traveled to Europe with People to People Student Ambassador program and also manages her diabetes while at school as there is no school nurse. I have had some health issues of my own (had a bout of Guillain Barre syndrome last August which I am still working through) as well as weight issues. Finding time and energy to exercise is a major concern.
