    SOMETHINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME:

-I have 2 70lb mutts both were rescued from shelters.Time to update the pets, Jacob one of our mutts died in May 2009. We now have a "Lab/Terrier mix" according to the shelter, but anyone who looks at ther sees pitbull she is 8 months old now and ALL puppy! We also have a kitten who is the puppies best friend!

-I am a procrastinator, I have been on CM over a year and am just getting to doing this part of my profile.

    - I am a hockey goalie mom and most of the stereotypes are true for me. If the game is tight I either leave, pace or eat mindlessly! I can say my son let in a bad goal but if anyone else does I will walk away either ready to cry or punch them.

-I truly believe that most parents do the best they know how with what they have either information or materially and try to see possible circumstances that could lead to people being in a situation rather than jumping to conclusions.

-Lately I love to read true crime and memoirs.

-I was 19 when I had my son and in an abusive relationship, even though I left before he turned a year old I used to beat myself up over the fact that my sons biofather was abusive to me (and him emotionally) and think that I should have left before they ever knew each other then I realized that my son would not be the person he is today without his experiences both good and bad with his biofather.

-My hubby and I have been together since my son was 11 months old-yeah I left my ex for my husband who was an ex at that time- and hubby adopted my son when he was 14 years old. It was the proudest day of both of their lives.

-I am the Aunt who buys annoying, loud and messy gifts! I also gave one nephew a chocolate overload breakfast when he was here on his birthday.

    - Chocolate and coffee are not only essentials they are vegetables! Both are made from beans and beans are vegetables therefore chocolate and coffee are vegetables!

-I feel the need to take care of my brother and sister eventhough they are also adults. We don't speak to our mother so I have taken to mothering them even if they do tease me about it.

    - Last summer my son found the basket part of a Target cart in the woods and carried it about a mile to hide it close to the road sure that he would convince me t take him to pick it up. Everytime a friend goes in his room we laugh until it hurts about the night he convinced me it would be a good memory for us to share!

    Happy  The Goalie's Mom

(I don't know who wrote this poem but my husband found it for me on the internet and I love it!)

I'm sure you've seen her at a hockey game
Although you may not know her name
She seldom sits with her friends or the crowd
Who get so excited and yell so loud
The rest of the teams they can give and take,
It's the goalie who always make the mistake.
"Take him out" they holler "He's a sieve!!"
"He doesn't even deserve to live!!"
But when the contest is going the other way,
They have nothing but praise and good things to say.
"He's stopping them all. Isn't he great?"
"If he keeps this up, we'll be going to the states"
When overtime comes, she can no longer stay
    But goes to the lobby and starts to pray;
And cautiously listens to hear a loud roar
She then knows that one team have now made a score.
Her heart in her throat, she peeks at the fans
They are joyful, screaming and clapping their hands.
With a sigh of relief, she know her boy's team has won,
So for now there won't be any criticizing her son.
She says a quite "Thank you God" as she starts to the door.
Today's a happy ending, but she knows there'll be more
Times when the goalie doesn't come through.
There'll be days when she'll brush a tear from eye
And days when she'll want to break down and cry,
For the player with the almost impossible task
Oh how she loves that child from behind the mask.
Yes, I'm sure you've seen this lady at one time or another
    'Cause she's a special breed, she's the goalie's mother.
