Things you should know about me (originally composed in 2007

1.  I'm kind of an oddity. I'm liberal, but traditional... sort of. I'm an edgy June Cleaver. But I've also served in the USAF and have a degree. I'm still an oddity, but there's nothing June Cleaver about me anymore. I live with my boyfriend. My kids don't live with me, but I see them everyday.

2. I think most religions are bullshit. I'm agnostic.

3. I'm pro choice..

4. My kids are taught that beauty means nothing without brains. They are also being taught that life is more than material things. They know that if it doesn't fill your belly, keep you warm and safe, or love you back, it's simply not that important.

5. I totally dig my husband. We are best friends. Ha! Not so much anymore. Eric is no longer my husband. We are friends. We will always have a connection, but our marriage took a wrong turn and crashed and burned quickly.

6. Elvis is the bomb digity. So is silver jewlery, the color pink, and high heels. *Sigh* I've replaced my jewlery with something deeper. I've traded in the heels for old jeans and flip flops. Seems more practical when raising an organic garden and dealing with compost.

7. I'm kind of retro. I like old things.

8. I have lived all over the world.

9. I love red wine, cooking, cleaning, ironing, reading, writing and painting. I don't drink much wine these days. It's not my friend. Ironing is an utter waste of time.

10. I love all kinds of music. Even country, but only if it's old.

I left my husband of 15 years in August. I left my pretty house with my nice appliances and over-priced furniture for a simpler, more meaningful lifestyle. I live with my soulmate, Troy. Together we garden, conserve, recycle, and are currently builing our home on his family's farmstead. My kids will be moving in with us next month.

I consider myself an enlightened soul.
