I did the unthinkable over 19 years ago when it was definitely not very popular to do it.. I quit my well-paying job as a TV writer producer in a major Top 10 television market to stay home with my kids.

It wasn't easy to do. First of all, there weren't that many moms like me deciding to chuck their career in favor of staying at home with their kids. The ones that were doing it had husbands with well-paying jobs. Mine was working as a restaurant manager and while the pay was decent, it wasn't spectacular. We really missed that second income that I was bringing in.

After a while, I realized I was bored! Even though I love my kids and we did lots of fun things together, I admit to being bored with staying at home because of the lack of mental stimulation. There's only so many games of peek-a-boo that you can play! 

So I embarked on the search for a perfect home-based business. I got sucked into a lot of opportunities and I confess that I never really made that much money at any of them.

Finally, in 2005, I decided to create my own website called Healthy Living for Moms. That started a whole series of blogs and websites and making money online.

I've recently started helping other small business owners with their websites. I don't actually build their websites, I just help them promote them online.

I really enjoy my online business and the cool thing is that there are so many ways to make money being online.

I know that today, there are a lot more moms staying home with their kids and I want to congratulate you on making the right choice! Looking back, I can see how fast those childhood years pass by and you can't get them back. Having lots of money is nice but I'm glad I was there for my kids as they grew up.  

I think they're glad, too!
