Married, Mother of 5, Grandmother of 11. Live in Cleveland, Ohio. I am a retired Nurse Practitioner who retired early due to nurse burnout. My specialty is Geriatrics. My husband Ray is also retired. He had a stroke in 1997. He is very fortunate that his only deficit is loss of peripheral vision on his left field of vision in both eyes and some mild left-sided paresis. I retired on disability from the VA in 2000. I think caring for the veterans and caring for my husband was more than I could handle at the time and the VA was unable to accommodate my request for part-time employment or trasfer to a less stressful department.
