My name is Kristen. I'm happily married to my wonderful husband Rodney for 7yrs now! We have three kids. R.J.(Rodney Jr.) who is 6yrs old. Madison is 3yrs, Lily's 2yrs old! Lily was born Sept 7th 2006 with a very rare cancer. It was a Congenital Neuroblastoma involving the placenta. Neuroblastoma one of the most common solid tumours of early childhood usually found in babies or young children. The disease originates in the adrenal medulla or other sites of sympathetic nervous tissue. The most common site is the abdomen (near the adrenal gland) but can also be found in the chest, neck, pelvis, or other sites. Most patients have widespread disease at diagnosis. Neuroblastoma is nerve cells that don't mature and form a mass.  Lily's cancer was on her left adrenal gland. She went through 2 rounds of chemo and was cleared in Nov. of 2006. Then in March of 2007 her cancer had came back on the right adrenal gland. She went through 8 more rounds of chemo. She finished her chemo in Sept of 2007. She now goes in for monthly check-ups. The  CT scan in Jan of 2008 showed the cancer was still there but shrinking. Her CT scan on April 2nd 2008 it showed the tumor was stable but shrinking! :) Her last CT scan was on Sept 2008. That CT scan showed no signs of cancer! She just had her Med Port removed Nov 6th 2008. It was used to give her the chemo treatments.  She is a fighter and has been since day one. We've been blessed so much to have her with us. She is the only survivor with her type out of 12 other cases. Lily is a Children's Miracle Network child also. She's been helping raise money for them. All the money goes towards the medical equipment needed to save all kids in the hospital. The money also helps pay for toys to play with while being in the Children's Hospital.
