Greetings Ladies - I have a 4 year old son who was diagnosed last month w/ASD.  I am finding it very difficult to get him into programs other than what the school district provides.  However I am making some progress - w/ a lot of trouble from our insurance (BCBG).  It seems that although we live in Oregon (way more proactive than some other states) our policy is based out of WA and they tend to treat autism as a "mental disorder" therefore paying only 50% and a cap of 39 visits/year.  I am really having a hard time keeping my head above water, so to speak.  My husband is an airline pilot and is only home for approx 2 days/week.  I love him so much but I do feel that he is total denial about our son's condition.  PS I am an "older Mom" - elderly primagravida - I so hate that label!!
