My name is Elaine and I am 25 years old. I recently got married on March 29th, 2008. My husband and I are expecting our first child who was originally planned to be here in Septemeber.

On April 27th my water broke (PROM pre rupture of the membranes) . I was 19 weeks along. We had a choice to terminate the pregnancy or continue on and leave it in gods hands. We decided to carry on and I am now 27 weeks. We realize the risks involved and obsiticals we may face, but we are more than willing to do what ever it takes to bring our baby into this world and we would do anything for him.

I have been on bedrest since 19 weeks. At 23 weeks I was admitted into Baptist Memorial Hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy. So this is home for now. Different obstacles arise everyday, but as long as my child is still inside me growing it is a good day overall :)

The longest I will carry is 34  weekswhich is our goal, but we are prepared for our baby to come anyday since I am ruptured.

The hospital has a great NICU and I am confident that I am doing everything I can to give our little Vincent a fighting chance to join us in this world. When we found out we were pregnant my husband wanted to name our baby Vincent if it was a boy. Recently we found the name meant "Conquering" so it is a perfect fit! He's a tough little guy!!!
