12 (kind of long) things you should know about me (they are in no particular order)...

1. I have been married to the same wonderful and understanding man for 5 years.

2. I am a 27 year old, stay-at-home mom to our beautiful and amazing son, Iain.

3. He was born October 10, 2007 at 4:22am via emergency c-section with general anesthesia due to severe preeclampsia known as HELLP Syndrome...fun. My pregnancy was horrible...I won't go into it here...but let's just say that I had the horrible symptoms for about 3 months before the doctors figured out what was wrong. It hurt more than anything...I wouldn't even wish it on my worst enemy...but everything turned out wonderfully in the end. We were lucky. I almost died...but I didn't...and Iain was only in the NICU for a week…has no complications and caught up in size in less than 4 months! You can't even tell he was premature at all. We were very blessed and I thank God every day for everything He's done for us!

4. Our son's name is Iain James (that's Iain not Lain...we use capital letters here). Iain being the Scottish form of Ian with the same pronunciation (because his father is mostly Scottish) and James...being his father's first name. It's a tradition in my husband's family to give the son the father's first name as a middle name so we decided to continue the tradition.

5. I am Welsh and VERY proud of it!

6. We are Christians and are raising our son as such.

7. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Electronic Media, Arts and Communication.

8. I love my blog because I enjoy posting random things and showing off pictures of our beautiful son. I love to read children's books...though I hardly ever have time unless it's during storytime with our son and...I can't really read him the books that I really like because he’s not quite there yet so...I am a little behind. I love to write stories, books, etc...

9. I am obsessed with photographing our son (and many other things)...a great and wonderful obsession since time seems to go by too quickly!

10. We have 2 cats and 1 dog – my husband has a Maine Coon named Chewbacca and I have a b/w domestic named Hagrid and we have a 4-year-old Rat Terrier named Tika.

11. Iain just started the local Early Intervention program and I'm very proud of the changes I already see in him. He's amazing!!!

12. Lastly, I'm a big believer in..."You raise yours and I'll raise mine." I won't put down how you raise your child(ren) so don't put down how I raise mine.
