I am a mother of three plus a step daughter. My son Dillon keeps me on my toes and when he is with my step daughter Sammi they are like a little tornado as long as they are getting a long. My daughter lives with her dad in Mississippi. It hurts pretty bad. But he needed her at the time. It was the worst mistake I've made in my entire life.

Since then I have remarried a wonderful man, Shannon. We had Caleb in February '07. When he was born the doctor said he wanted to do a test for downs. I about died. I didn't know anything about Down Syndrome and really I still don't know that much about it. It took me a while to accept that it wasn't my fault. Caleb was a week old and his ped wanted to send him to Grand Rapids to Devos Children's Hospital. We found out Caleb had Hirschsprung's Disease and needed surgery to correct it. My husband had to work so we drove down there 4 hours away and he headed back up to work. Thank heavens my sister lives down there and I could stay with her. Caleb was in the hospital a little over a week. It was my worst week ever. I felt guilty going to my sisters at night to sleep even though he had fantastic doctors.

Caleb doesn't have any serious problems now and he is growing so fast. He finally just got his first tooth. It's about time. He doesn't know he has downs and wants to go. He's almost crawling now. It won't be long now and he will be following Dillon around all over, drivin' him nuts. I can't wait.
