I'm a true Jersey Girl--all attitude, opinions, temper and passion. I'll always let you know what I'm thinking, even if it means we'll have words about it. That doesn't mean that I pick fights or that I'm impossible to get along with though! I can actually be quite casual and laid back. I love my family and friends and I'll defend them both to the end. I'm strong when I need to be, but gentle when the time calls for it. I stand up for myself and want to raise my girl to be a strong, independant woman.
DID YOU KNOW? FUN FACTS ABOUT NEW JERSEY:
1. For almost 50 years, every new baseball used in the MLB has its sheen rubbed off with mud from NJ. This magic mud is produced by Lena Blackburne Baseball Rubbing Mud in South Jersey.
2. Josh Saviano, who played Paul Pfeiffer on The Wonder Years, grew up in North Caldwell, NJ. He is not shock-rocker Marilyn Manson. He's even scarier: a lawyer!
3. NJ has more nail salons per capita than any other US state. (Anyone who's ever seen an episode of The Sopranos knows that!)
4. NJ has more horses per square mile than any other state.
5. The oldest standing log cabin in the US is in Gibbstown, NJ in Gloucester County. It was built between 1638 and 1643 by Benjamin Braman.
6. NJ also boasts the oldest brick house in the country. It was built in 1688 by John Ladd, who also helped William Penn design the streets of Philadelphia.
7. M&Ms are made in a candy factort in Hackettstown, NJ. Every day a white M is stamped on a hard candy shell 200,000 times per minute!
8. Every summer, NJ-yans consume over 1 million ice cream cones. My family alone eats 983,652 of them!
9. Maxim Magazine voted a sandwich called the Fat Darrell (which consists of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, marinara sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a sub sandwich roll) the #1 sandwich in the US. It was invented by a personal trainer (??) on the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick.
10. NJ isn't the only state where it's illegal to pump your own gas. It's also illegal in Oregon.
11. When Meryl Streep, who grew up in Summit, NJ, was asked by a reporter if she ever thought she'd be putting her hands in cement outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Meryl quipped, "In New Jersey, we put other things in cement."
