So, here I am just turned 30 and I often find myself sitting back reflecting on life. How fast things seem to be going. Have I done enough for myself and will I do enough for my kids and husband. Living in different countries than both our families has been tough but we've managed and nothing came easy so I think I've learned a lot. Matured a lot and changed a lot. Being a stay at home mom was never on my agenda. I was going to be a career woman. But then I moved her to be with my fiance and all the sudden wasn't allowed to work. We got married and I had my son and I realized that I never wanted to go back to work again. I know it's not for some and it's hasn't been an easy road. But I do love it. When my daughter came along it was double the pleasure. AND, double the trouble and diapers and and and...sometimes it is overwhelming but I find a lot of joy and value in myself to look at my kids and all their simple pleasures. That I have done a good job so far in raising them. It has been harder than managing 250 people. Sometimes I think there are never enough hrs in a day to do all the things I need to do and inevitably something is always behind...laundry, cleaning etc etc. but we try and go with the flow. We are a hugely creative family and spend most of our weekends at home with the kids. They absolutely love their dad. He is a very understanding and wonderful husband and we truly enjoy staying at home and having our family time. Working on the house, playing with the kids, fixing up the yard...all the things that need to be done but we have fun doing them. But sometimes I think I will be old and grey before there will be time to relax. I guess it will happen we just have to enjoy things now!
Hi
Glad you are getting used to it. I used to work at the Chase Manhattan on 231(Deer Park Ave) near the expressway when they were shorthanded. Do they still have the Sparerib there? I am not sure if that was Dix Hills or Commack? I love that place. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Hi
I read in the post about gas that you are on Long Island. Where about? I grew up in Brentwood, but when I got married, we moved to Coram. My hsband and I both worked in Chase Manhattan Bank in Hicksville. I am in Florida now but go back at least twice a year.
Have a great weekend.
