I am a mom to four great kids and my youngest is my heart baby. We found out after he was born of his condition. He was in the NICU for his premature lungs when they found him to have AVSD. We were shocked to say the least!

Up until his open heart surgery in May 2008 he showed no signs of CHD. He is a VERY healthy eater. The morning of his surgery he weighed 14 pounds and was one day shy of 3 months old!

I have began a chapter in Central Ca for It's My Heart (based in Texas) to help raise awareness about CHD and to connect with other heart families.
