I'm exactly 33 weeks pregnant today 10/20/08
I have a blood disorder called idiopathic thrombocytopenia ITP, which makes my platelets lower than average. I have had it since 3 years old. It doesn't affect my day to day life.
They have to give me steroids 2 weeks before delivery to keep my platelets up a certain level, so they will induce it on a set date. This is if there is a complication and I would need a c-section they are able to give me an epidural since otherwise it could only be general anesthesia, which is highly risky for pregnant women.
i moved here from Finland 5 years ago to be with my husband who is from here. We have been together over 7 years now.
I graduated The institute of Culinary Education in New York City 2 years ago. And went right to work at Le Bernardin ( http://www.le-bernardin.com/ ) for 1 year and 3 months. i quit when I was 2 months pregnant.
I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by staying organic and green as much as possible. I'm still working on it, though. I try not to stress about every little detail. Moderation is the key. i realize i'm not perfect, nobody is. And I'm in good terms with that fact. If I walk past a danish pastry and I want it...I will have it..ups. Oh well, or it's my guilt talking..maybe i should be more focused. Anyway I am a lot stricter now that I'm pregnant, with certain things.
That's it for now. The danish got my mind wandering...
