I'm a middle-aged woman, at the end of menopause, and at the beginning of going nuts. I am a widow with a way-to-big house and I work full-full-time. The two fulls mean I work all day at a job and all night at home. It's amazing how much work one house takes!!!
My boys are 19 and 21. The youngest is still home and will be for the rest of my life. I don't think I could have it any other way, but I'm not even out of the school stage with him, so I have a few years to think about it.
I enjoy reading and my penchant borders with fantasy and science fiction. I'm not into the star wars or star trek kind of science fiction, I'm into the Silverberg type where there are always twists and turns. I'd like to tell you what I do in my spare time, but I don't think I have any, except about 1 hour a nite when I can check my e-mail, chat, or just go to bed and get a good night's sleep.
I've fought just about every battle a mom can fight in assuring that my boys get the education to which they were entitled. My oldest boy was gifted and my youngest is special needs. School systems can be a nightmare if you let them. I didn't. Every state is different from what I hear, but Act 211 is very specific. I sort'of became an expert on that one just because I had to.
I enjoy discussing everything from politics and children to the latest fads and recipes, but I enjoy it more when the participants don't take everything personally. Just some good banter now and then is good for the soul.
Well, that's all I can come up with right now.
