Do you have a child or two that would do best with individual evening childcare? We prefer helping with homework and playing board or card games to just leaving a child in front of the TV, although we have child – appropriate videos and will follow your wishes. Does your child know the joys of “Go Fish,” “Mancala” or “Moose in the House?”
When my husband and I first got married, I had a babysitting job with a seven year old. Her mom had an evening job with a shift of eight pm to 2 am. I quit babysitting to go back to school – up until this week I was working full time with troubled teens and doing full time graduate work towards a teaching licensure. My husband was in school when I was last sitting and is now a fully licensed high school teacher.
I have a 26-year-old son that I raised as a single parent, as well as other references. My younger siblings were seven and nine years younger respectively, so my mother trained me to do a quality job as soon as I was old enough to supervise them at home alone for an hour or so. I spent many teenage years at the pool watching them in the kiddy side, as well as hiring out to outside families and helping at church.
Our combined experience is in sitting a seven to eight year old from November 2005 to December 2006. We have been planning to adopt, so we went through the foster care training in June 2007. In addition, since we are both teachers, we have been fingerprinted and background checked. We would be willing to get child / infant CPR certified if you like; however, we have had basic first aid and adult CPR as part of our teaching degrees.
We have a nice house, although a little cluttered with books. We have four yard cats, one house cat and a 45-pound dog that has had obedience training. Our future child's bedroom is set up, and can be used for a child to fall asleep in. We do not smoke, drink, or allow the same in our house. There is a garden in the backyard and a park nearby.
Special needs: my son had special needs and my husband had a special needs niece. Please feel free to discuss the needs of your child before trusting us with him / her. We understand the requirement for just the right person for a caretaker. Also, if you want your child taken to religious services, we are willing to take her / him to our facility or drive to your preference. Again, you may discuss your wishes with us before committing.
I prefer overnights or evening sitting, maybe even just an occasional "parents night out." I plan to take one class over the summer, may do some temporary office work during the day and will be starting my student teaching program in the fall. The cost is $120.00 full time one child (four or more days per week) and $180 for two. If you only need a few days or hours, it is $4/hr for the first child and $2/hr for a second child. Meals, Snacks, and Drinks are included. Please contact us if you are interested.

Thank You,
Nancy
I really wanted to suport the adoption community by going to the Adoptex dinner this Saturday. However, husband is worried I will get depressed since I can't adopt. Plus, we need the money since I lost my cell phone.
Haven't blogged in a while. Uncle died, student teaching is wearing me out, and I can't begin to get going on all my papers. Did file papers for infertility testing as step one in using surrogate with my husband's sperm.
Happy Birthday to you!!! Just want to stop by & invite you to MOMS WHO WANT TO HAVE FUN. Hope to see you there.
