Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who has figured prominently in recent political news for his attempts to begin impeachment hearings against President George W. Bush, today announced that the congressional subcommittee he chairs will look into reports of peace groups being surveilled by police and private investigators.
"ost people would be upset to know that police were spying on lawful citizens and infiltrating peaceful organizations, rather than chasing down real criminals," said Kucinich in a press release delivered to RAW STORY. "At a minimum, such police spying is clearly a waste of taxpayer dollars and a diversion from the mission of protecting and serving the people.
"I want the subcommittee to determine how widespread these activities are and who ordered them," the Ohio Democrat and former presidential candidate said.

GREAT POST, finally some one in DC can see that all this crap about National Security and wanting to spy on people is a bunch of crap. Moms on here say all these new laws Bush has signed is for catching terrorist, horse crap. There is a law that states any one [American] can be arrested for protesting the war in Iraq. Bush has gone nuts, thank goodness some one else sees this.
Bump .. thanks for posting !!!

Dennis Kucinich is such strong person. I admire his strength and tenacity. While I'm on the fence about this, (even though, I lean toward being pretty liberal) I admire the senator nonetheless.
Makes me sad that so many seem to be ok with this type of politicizing of our law enforcement.
