I heard about something like this happening before to a woman who yawned and felt a weird pain in her head, then stopped sleeping for pretty much the rest of her life.

Does his condition rejuvinate his body or does he sleep for maybe only a few hours a day. I heard it impossible to stay awake 24/7 for long periods of time. I heard it will kill you after 11 days because your body cant rejuvinate itself.

Yes, the human body NEEDS sleep to repair itself, to grow right, etc...poor baby. I hope the surgery makes a difference soon! I can't imagine the toll it's taken on him and his parents...
I feel so lucky that my daughter sleeps so much!
