Battle of the Bratz Dolls

parentingpink.com - Ever since the Bratz dolls were introduced to the market, I’ve felt nauseated every time I see one. Can you imagine a worse role model for your daughter? With their call girl makeup, sexy clothes and materialistic mentalities, Bratz are preying upon young girls’ natural inclination to imitate older girls - a practice that can negatively alter their self-esteem.

My 6 year old begged me for these dolls. No way was she getting one, I think they look like street walkers.

My daughters have them and there not as bad as everyone makes them out to be... My daughters don't ever keep clothes on there dolls though and they like the baby one's and the kid ones. What I do is as soon as they become naked I throw there clothes away or when my daughter asks for a dress like her dolls i tell her she isn't old enough to wear a dress like that yet, maybe when your older... I also try to stear them toward the ones that aren't dressed as seductively.... I think parents are getting more lazy and not explaining and talking to there kids as much as they need to It's not the dolls because when I was a kid i had barbie that were in lingerae and I married my high school sweetheart and lost my Virginity to him and were still together... So I really don't think it's the dolls our kids play with it's how much time we put ourselves in our childrens lives that determines how our children turn out...

Lazy? Really? Maybe for some but for some of us it is a matter of giving money to an image we dont want our daughters to think is cool or ok.

I HATE BRATZ DOLLS! My father in law gave one to my 18 month old baby girl... which I promptly got rid of. It was a BIKER chick, in full leather and high heel boots... yeah, that's an image I want my daughter to aspire too...

Well I have never seen a problem with the "DOLLS", I agree with LilMommi0f2. My daughter could car less about dolls she is into books, puzzles, things that challenge her, she has never shown any interst in dolls..thankfully ( she is going to be 5 in Aug), but she has Bratz doll at the bottom of her toy box, a game collecting dust on the shelve for gamecube I bought for us to play together, and my mom bought her a Bratz chair when she was three. The chair gets more use..lol. But anyways the Bratz are no different then when Barbie came out, she was just as contriversial. The clothes may be not what you want nor I want for my daughters but you know what SAY NO!! And has anyone seen the way some of the Barbies bodies have changed lately..you could say the same thing about her..didn't she have BIG boobs and a small waste forever (some could say that Barbie was giving "my child the false impression that she HAD to be skinny with BIG boobs")...JMO :)
