Do I like novels?Ha! Like is an understatement. I love novels, books, whatever you want to call them.I have a weekness for books. I have a bookcase upstairs that is overflowing with books to read. In the attic, I have several totes worth of books that I have already read. I always have at least one book on my night stand that I'm reading and usually I'm reading two or three at a time. I love, love, love books.

Have you ever sat and wondered what your child will be when they grow up? What they will be like? If they will follow through life with the morals that you instilled in them?I've caught myself sitting back watching my boys on occasion, almost catching a glimpse of who/what they will be. I often wonder if I'm giving them enough of my time, enough of a foundation, enough room to grow and learn. If our morals are getting through to them. If we've taught them right. My boys are only 4 and 6 but they are little people now. This week even though my oldest was sick...

My son made me so proud of him today.Let me start by explaining, that my son has an IEP, mostly for speech but he had also received additional help for writing and other congnitive things. It was a long process last year but by the time summer hit, he was able to write his first name in capitols with no problems. I was very worried as the school year began. Worried that he would fall behind or that he would have a hard time with writing especially.Today, I was going through his folder and there was a paper where they had to count the number of objects and write the number...

I think I've been in denial for the past 6 years, thinking that my baby was going to be home with me forever. Ha! Next Tuesday he starts his first day of kindergarten and boy am I sad and am I in denial. It just hit me today that I'm going to have to change my thoughts on lunches. I'll actually have to start packing a lunch for B instead of letting it up to him what he has each day and letting him fix it.We sat together today going over his menu for the next two weeks and I think he picked two days that he wants to buy, every other day (6 total) he wants to pack his...

Yesterday we received the 'Welcome to Kindergarten' booklet that lists all the teachers in it for my son and it hit me my baby is growing up.Ok, he's not so much a baby, afterall he will be 6 in just a few short weeks, but man does it only seem like yesterday that I was holding him in my arms and loving him up and now he's a school boy.I actually had to fight tears yesterday. I didn't even cry when he started preschool but I guess because I know this is the beginning to the end, it has affected me. Beginning to the end meaning now that he starts school, it's only a matter of...

Last Thursday, we packed up and went on our mini vacation, camping. It was our oldest 2nd time and our youngest first time to go camping. Our oldest was only 11 months old when he went the first time so he really doesn't remember going. We used to go camping every year up until 5 years ago when we lost our dog sitter. This year we decided to give it a try and go camping at a state park 1/2 hour away. It was really fun.We were planning on tenting and our neighbor even offered us their tent but then rain decided to play with us again (our last camping trip consisted of nothing but...

My husband was suppose to be off this week for his vacation. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary on Friday and he always takes this week off. Wouldn't you know it, his company decides to schedule a manadatory meeting for yesterday and today. We ended up rescheduling our camping trip because of it.Today our contractor friend came over to help us with fixing our utility room. Or should I say he came over to do all the work, while we watched. We are now waiting for him to come back with all the supplies.I think I may have an UTI. I just got over a kidney...

Long before they were on TLC, I heard about a small family who were going to welcome 6 little bundles of joy into their lives all on the same day.I'm like most who were pretty critical of them bringing 6 lives into this world and not having any idea how they would afford all of them. I thought boy, they are crazy. They could have aborted a few of them. They knew what they were getting into. Then those 6 bundles of joy arrived and their lives got busy and they worked on being a family.Within a few months of them being born, I got to meet one parent and later shortly before...
