I have 7 year old twin girls and a 5 year old girl. One of the twins, Tala is the best one, she eats more variety and is willing to try new things. However, all 3 of them turn their nose up at anything but canned veggies, mostly just green beans and corn. Tala will eat broccoli, Taryn(the younger twin) will eat carrots, and Kara, the youngest will eat peas. That is pretty much the extent of their veggie intake. I can get them to eat raw carrots and celery if I give them Ranch dip. Fruits, they eat some of, Tala will only eat bananas and green grapes. Taryn and Kara will eat bananas, apples, grapes, and cantaloupe.
Kara is now refusing to eat chicken, I dont know why but here in the last six months, no matter how I make it she doesnt want to eat it. I made homemade chicken noodle soup the other day, Taryn and Kara refused to eat it. There are a lot of nights I am making them other things because they wont eat what I make. It is very hard for me to convince them to try new things or even try things they dont like every so often to see if their tastes have changed.
I would really like to see my children eat healthier, try new things, and eat more veggies. I would really like to make new things instead of the same old things to give them more variety to their diet and mine lol! I would like them to look forward to dinner instead of, "Yuck! I dont like that!"

I share your frustration. My youngest son eats well, but my oldest who is 9 lives on pb & j (has to be creamy pb, grape jelly, on white bread with the crust cut off), hot dogs (but only if they don't have crunchy skin or dark marks from being grilled or cooked), chicken tenders (but only certain ones), spaghetti w/butter only, kraft mac & chez, or grilled cheese. He drinks lots of milk, but no veggies or fruit at all. And get this - he won't eat pizza!
My husband gets so mad at him, but I think he just ends up making the situation worse. (not that I have the answer either, but I don't like making meal time a power struggle.)
When he was younger, he'd eat venison spiedies, steak, pork chops, shrimp scampi, pizza. Now he claims to be a partial vegetarian that doesn't eat vegetables. And my sister has the same problems with her oldest. What have we done to our children? Or what can we do to fix this problem? If you figure it out, please share.
