I am very sad. My children and I have been going to a church since their dad left, for about 7 years now. Well, I have finally come to the realization that we are no longer wanted there. It has been building up for a while now, but lately things have happened in which I will no longer put myself and my children in the position of being treated like we are some kind of aliens. I have tried to just go to church for me and the kids and praise God like we have all been taught to do, in a church, always hoping that things would get better. Always giving the people there another chance to prove to me that people are not really like this. But unfortunately, they proved me wrong. Adults have spread rumors about my 17 year old without ever seeking the facts. Adults have said aweful things about my 8 year old for a long time. All this, in church. My goodness, we aren't even safe from evil tongues in church. I am sad because I really do like the sermons and taking communion, but I am going to take the advise of a new friend. God can hear me from my house. I will have to make my home our church for a while until we find a church that will make us feel welcome. If there truly is such a thing.

I am so sorry for you and your children, you should never have to face that in church!

May. 21, 2008 at 10:47 PM Don't give up on "church" yet!! There has to be a  good church out there. Needless to say, this so called church you have been going to is full of pretentious people that are not worthy of your time and effort and thoughts.

Pray!  God will send you where you are suppose to be.  Maybe he has something great for you to do but you can't do it in the church you are at.  Jesus once said that a prophet is not welcome in his own country.  Joyce Meyer also had the same problem and now look at her.  I will stand in agreement with you if you want.  People are no more Christians if they go to church than cars if they stand in their driveway.  God know our hearts.  If you can find John Bavere and listen to him.  He explains this.  Joyce Meyer books are good to help with all of this too.

I will be praying for you!

Sometimes the devel put road blocks in our way to discourage us.  Don't let him win!  When he knocks just say Jesus can you get that! :)

Every morning I say " God I am a despirit woman and I can't do this without you"  It works. :)
