Hi Mommies.  I'm facing a dilemma today, and I'm not sure what to do.  I'm hoping you'll tell me what you'd do in this situation.

My baby Dane (not yet 6 months old) is hacking, coughing, sneezing away and has watery eyes and runny nose.  I'm going to take him to the Dr. today because he's really worrying me with his horrible cough.

But, the dilemma is that my husband's boss, whom I've never met, flew into town yesterday for some meetings with Nathan.  Well, we are supposed to go out to dinner tonight with his boss at a fancy restaurant.  I even lined up a babysitter for the evening and everything!  His boss actually is staying an extra night in town just to meet me and take us out to dinner.

So, I'm not sure what I should do now....I don't want to leave my sick baby with a babysitter.  But, I don't want to not go to dinner since his boss made all these extra arrangements to stay in town longer.

What should I do?  Please help me decide!!!

Thanks!

~Mandy

May. 22, 2008 at 11:37 AM Go to dinner.....especially if the sitter agrees to watch a sick baby,,,,,,,throw her an extra few bucks for it.....but this is just one of many colds your child will get in the child's lifetime...you need time away even if they are sick....sometimes it gives you that extra boost to go home and take care of the little sick one.    So go, have a good time and keep your cell on just in case the babysitter needs you.

May. 22, 2008 at 11:41 AM I probably wouldn't make a decision till I took the baby to the doctor.  Find out how serious it is.

May. 22, 2008 at 11:52 AM I think that as long as your Dr. doesn't think it is anything serious, you can totally go to dinner. Just speak with your DH before hand about how you're feeling & maybe plan to make it not a late night.
