Okay, so I work at the front desk of a hotel in Reno, and this weekend was a HUGE basketball tournement...al highschool kids, not a big deal, we get kids here all the time.
Well, we literally have had complaints on EVERY floor. Kids BREAKING furniture, runnign up and down the halls up and down the strairs boucing basketballs, underage drinking....come on!!! REALLY?! Poor security!!
And where are the coaches and chaperones?! Downstairs drinking and gambling!!! WTF?! TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS!!!!!! They are YOUR resposibility!!!
I don't mind minor complaints, but when I have to go up to each floor and check and make sure there are no kid loitering the halls and making noises...we had to comp so many people b/c of the noise.
I would KILL my son if he were doing ANY of those things! I don't like it when people tell me how to raise my kids, but if I found out Xander was doing this, his butt would be grounded for a VERY long time!!!!
And you can tell which kids were taught respect and which weren't...and you could tell which coaches didn't care and which ones were so upset their kids were the cause of it.
*sigh*

Sounds like a horror story I once lived through. My sister wrangled me into chaperoning her school's graduations with her (she's a teacher). So it was just her and I for I dunno how many kids... near 100, at least (2 full buses). Well, those kids were so bad! Doing all the stuff those basketball kids were doing. I was so angry! My sister and I ran to different floors all night and were up until 5:30 AM, until they all were drunk enough to pass out. It was horrible. I felt so bad for the hotel and the other guests, but honestly, we did keep it as calm as we could. I think that every student lost their deposits, which was near 3500$ in total, if I recall correctly.
Anyways, I feel for ya... :)
We had an experience like that too except they were all grown men and women! My daughter had a sweet 16 bday party at a local hotel that had a great indoor pool area with slides etc. Well, this artsy group was in town for a convention. They left beer bottles, garbage, everything outside their door. They partied till all hours of the night loudly. Drunk people fighting, cursing, threatening to kill the other. One time before it was even 10:00 two grown men were fighting outside their room in their undies! We called security but they were no help. They couldn't control them and it was going on all over the hotel. Needless to say, the girls were a little scared and got no sleep whatsoever. They refunded our money and gave us another free night and swim park passes to make it up to her. It will be a night they will never forget. Hopefully the 16 year old girls learned a lesson on drinking that night:)
And this is why I defer to my hubby when it comes to parent day at the kids' school. Seriously. I have zero tolerance for ANYone who shows disrespect towards their fellow human beings. :(
Sorry hun. At least the weekend's over, right?
