I just had to share this with you. A couple days ago, hubby and I took the kids to Gatorland. It was very hot and midway through our visit, we decided to let the kids play in the little splash park to cool off. I was sitting on a bench in the shade while hubby and the kids went and got wet. Well, this woman had seen my hat with the Autism Speaks logo on it and approached me to ask who in my family was autistic. I said, "My son." and pointed him out to her. She pointed out her son and we ended up chatting for a while. Turns out our kids were not only both high-functioning, but also the same age (her son is older than mine by only 5 days)! We shared similar stories about school and our views on certain autism-related issues. On the way home, I marveled to my husband about the chances of meeting someone with so much in common at a crowded park over a holiday weekend. I felt so comfortable talking to her too! I guess it was intended for us to meet. Even if I never see her again, I will never forget her.
