Very thankful but sad

Today we had layoff's at our school.  I was tremendously relieved that I was NOT lay-ed off.  I have been the past few years and it sucks.  But many of my co-teachers will be.  Right now I know of 9 non-tenured and 6 tenured teachers.  It just really sucks!!!!  Our school has to cut a million and three to balance our budget.  I have no idea where we are going to do that from. I sure wish the economy would get better.  I long for the days of not worrying at the end of every school year of being lay-ed off.
