The Terms "Pro-Life" and "Pro-Choice"

Never in my life have I seen this phrase as often as when I got online and into social network forums. It seems to be a very large part of one's identity with women, in particular.
The term has always kind of bugged me. To me, it insinuates that people who are "pro-choice" have a complete disregard for life.
In my experience I've noticed a lot of pro-life people are conservative, both socially and politically. So, they're all for war and the death penalty. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
Personally, I'd like to change the term to "anti-choice," and don't see why not since I've been called "pro-abortion." (That really bugs me.)
What are your thoughts on this? If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it.

When I say I am pro choice, I mean I am pro choice on everything.. Everyone has the right to choose for themselves what they want to believe in or do... I do not understand why women fought for our rights when some women want to take those rights away from other women......           Its so funny they do not want everywomen to have the same choices but any choice they make is perfectly all right... Double standards if you ask me....

I wrote something similiar to this awhile back. It was really sparked by my hubby and him saying that no one is pro-life. He says though who claim they are are still pro-choice but they just choose life. It's complicated. Feel free to check it out. http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/730299/Abortion

I completely agree that women see this as a very important part of who they are. Why? I don't know. It is however important to me. I think it is the same really no matter what you call it. People seem to want all people to believe what ever they believe. That bugs me.

I am against the death penalty and war. I see peoples need to have war and death, It is human nature. It may be sick but it is true at heart we are all animals, and animals are instinct creators. That is why i think this topic becomes so important to women. They have intense nature to protect the young and innocent but if someone has screwed-up or are "bad" they deserve punishment or in some case death.  So along with you my thoughts might be clear, but it will always be critical for people to be animals in there nature, because with out it we can not be individuals.

I hate that people think pro-choice means pro-abortion, but i honestly don't know that it is different. So i say i will, for all of those people who are pro-life, call it anti-choice. It makes sense to me. Pro-choice to me is that every person woman or man has the right to bring or not bring a child in the world. Just like you can chose what you believe in. or how you can chose to get pregnate then give that child up or chose to be a horrable parent because you didnt get an alternative. Rights are Rights no matter which way you chose to tilt them.
