This is only what I know from my own experiences....
1. Polygamy is not new testament. I still need to read my Bible entirely -- but last I did understand it -- one man, one woman... family. NOT one man, 8 women....
2. FDLS - is a religion unto itself and I have issues with ALL religions - christian or otherwise. I do not agree with how the religion came about, nor do I agree with what they teach. Yes, I have attended an FDLS church -- its the church's teachings I have issues with. NOT the friend's I grew up with that attended the church.
3. CPS in Texas has needed a serious kick in the ass for a long time. The checks and balances they have in place are a total infraction upon Any family living in Texas and violate our rights - not only on a constitutional level but on EVERY LEVEL OF LIVING!
I have first hand experience of a CPS staff person LYING TO ME! She will of course deny it. However, if other people whom had to deal with my situation with my son will tell you getting phone calls back is impossible. And her actions caused MORE problems then they resolved. I had to step up as the PARENT OF A CHILD and take back MY rights and my child's rights to set things straight for our family. Where did she go? Back off to her office -- to go deal her leathal blows of destroying other families. She informed me, and I still do not have, that the case concerning my child was closed and a letter sent. It's been 6 months..... hrm... where is that letter? Got me.... they are usually certified so getting "lost" is not likely.
Other people have had worse experiences. CPS allows "game playing" teenagers run amok all over their parents and destroy families within by encouraging this behavior. How do I know this? I have had a CPS paid "counselor" tell me that I am raising my very non-conformist son wrong. Repeatedly. I have refused to step foot in her office any longer. (With any non-conformist you have to learn how to work with their behavior - and still keep them within social guidelines. For some -- its too late. CPS already brain washed the teenager into thinking the behavior was not only acceptable -- the behavior completely destroyed the family.)
By the way, did you know all it takes is a teenager to say, "Yes, I feel threatened by my parents." to any person and that person can call CPS and file a report? CPS is supposed to investigate - but you better be DAMN CAREFUL what you say to them because they will use what you say AGAINST YOU whether its true or not and they will TWIST EVERYTHING YOU SAY INTO A LIE!
I have emotions to include anger. My husband has emotions to include anger. Did you know that means I have an anger management problem according to CPS guidelines? That I now have to have counseling to "resolve" my anger management problem? Do you get angry? Do things that are unjust or unfair make you mad? HAHAHAHAHA! YOU NEED COUNSELING TOO! No, I am not kidding.
What would this tell you about my parenting? I have a non-conformist teenager. He's 17 and he apparently was born KNOWING EVERYTHING (sounds normal so far right?). He makes mistakes... big ones, little ones, and currently one REALLY BAD one... the REALLY BAD one -- he came to me and my husband and fessed up... "hey, dad... I screwed up... this is what happened...." and proceeded to lay out the whole story according to his understanding. Yup.. its bad.. like juvie detention possibilities bad -- and he came to us of his own accord and told us...
to me -- that speaks of a trust that my son has not only for me, but his step dad as well -- and a teenager with that kind of trust has had something done right in the way he was raised.
Now the NON-conformist part -- he bucks the rules where ever and when ever he can.. all the time. When most teenagers finally quit bucking the system (like my son-in-law said he heard a POP when he finally "got it" *his head popped out of his ass*) my 17yo still has his head up his ass.... drives me crazy! but I apparently "raised him" wrong... sure... that's why he told YOU and not me and dad about his fuck up.
