Friday Caitlin had her 4 hour kidney test. Caitlin was so good and brave! She only ended up getting 2 sets of blood work and got prizes from them and me. That made her happier. And I packed a ton of new toys and activities from the dollor store for the long wait. And Caitlin loved it and kept busy playing with me the whole time. The lab staff were great too. They were so patient and understanding with her.

So, here is the icky part. we will not have the results for a month. But, we know something is not right cus Caitlin drank over 32 ounces of juice and only out put 10 ounces over the 4 hour period. It was enough for all the tests but showed he body is not functionally to remove the fluid put in her body. And I had promised Caitlin lunch at friendlys (local lunch and ice cream restuant). So we went and she only ate a little and said her belly hurt. Then we had to run to Target before picking up Lilly and by the time we got Target her d]face was soooo swollen that she looked like she had the mumps and her fingers and ankles were swollen too. Half way through Target she said her lower belly hurt and pointed to where her kidneys are. So, she rode in the cart and was doubled over in pain by the end. When I took her out to walk to the car she said her legs hurt so bad that she could not walk. So i called the pedi and we went in. They checked her out and determined it was edema from the large amount of fluid at once. A normal kidney should have easily been able to handle that amount easily. So, it shows even more things are not right. We went home and she fell asleep on the way (she never does that) and she slept from 1-5:30. She only woke cus we woke her up. She was a little better, and the swelling went down some. We kept track of her peeing and she drank alot the rest of the day like normal (only water as directed by pedi to flush out everything) and she only peed 2 times all day and got out about 8 ounces total- not anywhere near what was put it.

She looked better when she woke today, and her eyes had bags under them from the swelling. But, it looked as if she was getting past it all.

Today all day she was okay but very weak and tired. She fell asleep in the car after my birthday lunch and slept for over 4 hours. But, she looked a lot better after her nap. So we went out as a family for dinner and she doubled over in pain clutching her lower abdomine by her kidneys and bladder right before we got to the restuant. Then when we got out she got sick.

We were going to go home, but she perked right up and said she had got car sick (which she has done before) so we went in the resturaunt to eat. And she picked at her food, and had sooo many bathroom trips to pee, with nothing coming out. Then she layed on my lap and fell asleep at the end. We got home and she went to bed. And she just woke up puking! And has been puking pretty contunually in between small stops to sleep (like right now) for over an hour! I called the pedi and if she is still this bad in the morning he will meet us at his office and direct admit her into the hospital for our normal dehydration routine. So, Please Pray Caitlin makes a quick recovery and stays out of the hospital!

This poor kid ends up missing so much being sick-Tomorrow she has dance pictures and a birthday party for one of her best friends at school that she been sooo excited about for weeks and weeks! I think this is not an illness and totally related to the kidney test, so hopefully this will pass and she will be better in the AM

Tonight is gonna be a long night for sure! I will update

when I can.

As i predicted last night was not fun. Caitlin threw up ALL night. I was keeping track but lost count at 10. It was constant. Now this AM she has had 3 diarrhea's and is soooo lathargic. She is now refusing to drink and has a slight fever. All those things equal dehydration for her. And she has not peed since yesterday AM. I am waiting for the pedi to call to see if we should come in to see him later or go to the ER.

Poor thing looks awful! I will update again when I can.
