I love my MP3 player.  It is my workout buddy.  I have workout playlists that are SO motivating and help keep me going when I want to slow down.  My new stroller that I bought in March has a place to plug in the MP3 player and play music over the onboard speakers.  (I love it!)  So I can play my music and walk safely without putting on headphones.  (I LOVE it!!!)

Wednesday was such a pretty day, so I took the kids to the zoo after school.  As I was getting the stroller ready to go on the zoo train, I dropped my MP3 player on the ground.  It couldn't have been more than about a foot and a half to the ground, but it broke.

Now, I had this same problem about a year and a half ago, when I dropped my old MP3 player while jogging on the treadmill.  It was a short drop, but it broke, too.  It would come on, go to the start up screen, make a high pitched barely audible "b'ding, b'ding, b'ding" sound, and that was it!  It was still under warranty, so I called tech support and we tried EVERYTHING to fix it, but it was, according to them, toast.  They got me a new one, the exact same, and I reloaded all my music.  It was all cool.

But this time, my MP3 player was well out of warranty, and knowing that it was doing the exact same thing as my old player, I figured it was useless.  The thing was trash.  I was sad, but somehow KNOWING that it was not fixable, I wasn't too frantic or stressed about it.  I knew there was no hope.

I was sitting on the couch, holding it, and thinking I might as well just throw it in the trash.  But for some reason I decided that since it was toast anyway, maybe I ought to try a Fonzie move on it.  I figured if dropping it on it's left side broke it, maybe whacking it on the right side might bump whatever came loose magically back into place.  So I took it to the bathroom and whacked the crap out of it against the side of the bathtub.  I turned it over, turned on the power button, and wouldn't you know it, the thing came right to life!  It worked!!!

So, I have my little workout buddy back.  I really love that MP3 player!

Jun. 2, 2008 at 9:49 PM I first thought you lost a dog, but now I see you have emotional attachment to your MP3 player. Does your DH know there is a third person in your marriage? Or does he like the threesomes? He might be kinky like that.
