Last night was mindblowing.  In more than one way.

He picked me up at 12 noon, very close to being on the dot.  At about 11 he called and asked me to wear a cute sundress.  Not too fancy, but not too dressed down either.  So I threw on a sunflower halter sundress that I had made about 2 weeks ago.  It accentuates my breasts VERY well...although pretty much anything does.  I have a 36-DDD.  (yay for breastfeeding!) If I must say so myself, I think I looked absolutley smoking.  I had on some white pumps with open toes, and my hair was pulled up in a curly mess of a bun.  No makeup - he doesn't like it.

He pulls up in front of the house and starts to lower the top of his car.  This was a signal to me to make sure my hair was loose, so I let my hair down and ran out of the house.  I stepped in his car and for some reason, I felt 18 again.  I felt free, I felt young.  It was AMAZING.  We drove around for a bit, just taking in the scenery.  Then he pulled up to a park and we took a short walk around the lake.  We sat on rocks and fed the geese.  We He threw around a football (I can't throw footballs for the life of me, so when I 'tried' to throw it to him - it went straight into the ground or about 200ft in the wrong direction.)

After walking around, talking, loving, hugging, we picked a spot that overlooked the lake, the stream, the miniature rapids, and a very pretty wildflower rehab garden and spread out a picnic that he had prepared HIMSELF!

The reason this is such a big deal is because this man does not cook.  Before yesterday, I honestly didn't think he knew how to boil water, but I was proven wrong because he made some pretty kick butt macaroni salad.

The food was so much.  He had deli meats, different breads, crackers, cheeses, macaroni salad, potato salad, pickeled beets (my fav!) And a bottle of Asti that we'd been saving for a special day.

After the picnic we came back to our house, had a little fun, took a shower, and got dressed to go out to dinner.  We went 5 star!  I had never been to a 5 star restaurant before.  We had 5 courses, a salad,  appetizer, fish, meat, and dessert.  It was so good!  i couldn't tell you what he ordered for me, because I honestly have no clue, but it was spectacular!

The night was amazing.  I think it was the first night in the last 8 years where I didn't wake up at least once to a child's cries.  I slept the whole night through, and loved every minute of it.

I thanked him this morning until I was blue in the face.  He kissed me on my forehead and just said that I deserved it.  I smiled big and went to make breakfast.

This day is going to be perfect!
