I'm so confused right now.  Here's what I have to do....

Write an equation of the line that passes through the given point and is perpendicular to the given line.  Write the answer in slope-intercept form.

(4,-2), x = 5/4 y - 2

Jun. 1, 2008 at 7:53 PM slope-intercept form is y=mx+b  m is for the slope and b should a some number (like the -2 in the top equation).  Perpendicular is where the lines cross.  honestly I don't quite remember how to do it so I hope this helps.  did you write the equation right.  I was wondering if maybe you mixed up the x & y.
